Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Upper Peninsula Power Company is starting to lower water levels at their U.P. hydroelectric reservoirs.

The Lake Gogebic reservoir in Gogebic County is expected to be lowered between now and the end of February.

Drawdowns of levels at the Victoria and Bond Falls reservoirs in Ontonagon County will begin this month, and the Prickett Hydro Dam reservoir in Baraga County is slated for drawdown in February.

UPPCO is dropping the water levels as part of federally regulated efforts to prepare for the spring runoff.
