MDOT Holding Public Meetings on Transportation Improvement Plan

    Great Lakes Radio NewsMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Michigan Department of Transportation is seeking comments from the public in the Upper Peninsula on the State Transportation Improvement Plan and the department’s Five Year Program at three meetings this week.

    MDOT staff will discuss transportation funding projects for the 2013 construction season, and plans for Upper Peninsula state highways and bridges through 2017.

    The first session will be held this afternoon at the Kinross Charter Township Hall in Kincheloe, with the next meeting tomorrow at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College in Escanaba.  The final meeting will be on Thursday at City Hall in Houghton.

    All meetings will begin at 1 p.m.
