Investigation Closes on NMU Student Death
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Officials at Northern Michigan University say the investigation into the death of a student on campus three days ago has been closed.
An autopsy was performed yesterday to determine the cause of death of 22-year-old Monica Matus, of Chicago, who was found deceased in her Woodland Park apartment in Marquette Friday afternoon.
Matus was an art and design-secondary education major and a film studies minor.
NMU officials say the death was not related to any on-campus accident and no foul play is suspected in the case.
