Investigation Into Fatal Standoff Says Officer in the Right

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed the Michigan State Police investigation into the fatal shooting of a Humboldt Township woman last week by a State Police Trooper.

The incident happened last Thursday at the woman’s residence around 6 p.m. 50-year-old Lori Lee was shot by the Trooper after she pointed a rifle at police responding to a domestic dispute call.

Police say Lee refused to lower the weapon after being instructed by the Trooper and a County Sheriff’s Deputy to do so. The Prosecuting Attorney says after review, charges are not warranted and the officers involved were justified in their actions.
