Investigation Into Fatal Standoff Says Officer in the Right
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed the Michigan State Police investigation into the fatal shooting of a Humboldt Township woman last week by a State Police Trooper.
The incident happened last Thursday at the woman’s residence around 6 p.m. 50-year-old Lori Lee was shot by the Trooper after she pointed a rifle at police responding to a domestic dispute call.
Police say Lee refused to lower the weapon after being instructed by the Trooper and a County Sheriff’s Deputy to do so. The Prosecuting Attorney says after review, charges are not warranted and the officers involved were justified in their actions.
