Lower Peninsula Brewery Looking to Expand to U.P.
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A southern Michigan brewery is looking to expand into the Upper Peninsula.
According to reports, Bell’s Brewery has offered to buy more than 3 acres of land in the Whitetail Industrial Park in Escanaba for $35,000. The Escanaba City Council will discuss the possible sale during a special meeting tomorrow morning.
Bell’s produces 500,000 barrels of specialty beers a year at its breweries in downstate Kalamazoo and Comstock. Company officials say its ales are sold in 18 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.
