Weekend Accident at Crossroads Leaves Four Injured

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Marquette County Sheriff has released the names of the people involved in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at the M-553 and County Road 480 crossroads.

The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. when a northbound 2008 GMC Yukon on M-553, driven by 64-year-old Cynthia Nyquist of Marquette, hit a 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon, driven by 41-year-old Brady Walters of Eben Junction that was eastbound on County Road 480.

Nyquist was ticketed for failure to yield. Four passengers in the Walters vehicle were taken to MGH for treatment of minor injuries.

Nyquist complained of minor head pain but refused treatment at the scene. All drivers and passengers were wearing seat-belts and the side impact airbag of the Mercury deployed.
