MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – U.S. Congressman Gary Peters is expected to announce this week that he will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Carl Levin.
Peters spokesperson Haley Morris would not confirm his plans but did say Peters has been weighing the decision with his family, and they are very close to letting everyone know.
The Bloomfield Township Democrat has been building up cash for a possible run with a first-quarter campaign report showing that Peters raised $370,000 since the beginning of the year and had more than $800,000 in cash on hand.
Their are no announced Republican candidates.
