Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The Keweenaw and Houghton county road commissions law enforcement agencies are advising motorists to drive with extreme caution along M-26 between Eagle River and Copper Harbor and along Gay-Lac La Belle road.

The Keweenaw County road engineer has received reports of standing water along portions of those roads where flooding has never been previously reported.

There is a flash flood watch for Marenisco Township downstream of the Presque Isle River dam through tonight. At 10 p.m. yesterday, the Gogebic County emergency manager reported a structural concern with the dam in Marenisco Township. Although the problem appears to have been fixed, there is still a concern the dam could fail, especially with significant runoff from recent snow melt building up behind the dam.
