Menominee Man Arrested for Possession of Bombs

    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)An Upper Peninsula man is facing charges after police found explosive devices in his apartment last weekend.

    51-year old Thomas Bebo of Menominee was arraigned Monday on a charge of possession of bombs with unlawful intent. Police went to Bebo’s home Friday night after a neighbor alerted them to the possibility of bombs in his apartment to be used to threaten his ex-wife. A search turned up five explosive devices in the apartment.

    Menominee City Police say a a bomb squad later set off one of the bombs in a local gravel pit. The other four were defused and turned over to the police department for evidence.

    Bebo remains lodged in the Menominee County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond pending a preliminary examination on May 9. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
