Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)A guilty verdict on all counts was handed down yesterday by a Gogebic County jury in the trial of Kenneth Peters of Bessemer.

The 50-year-old Peters was convicted of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and second-degree vulnerable adult abuse in the death of his 79-year-old wife, Ethel Grzena-Peters.

His sentencing date has not been set, but in Michigan, a first-degree murder conviction carries an automatic sentence of life in prison without parole.

Grzena-Peters disappeared last August and her body was found about ten days later. The trial lasted three weeks and the jury found Peters guilty on all counts after about 12 hours of deliberations.
