Escanaba, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities in Delta County have released an update of their investigation into the death of a woman who died Saturday after she was hit by a semi.
Escanaba Public Safety says the accident happened around 11:15 a.m. on the 2300 Block of Lincoln Road on US-2/41 & M-35.
Reports say the woman, who has now been identified as 65-year-old Judith Gurney of Wells Township, walked out onto the highway into the path of a southbound semi-truck.
Gurney was taken to St. Francis Hospital and later transferred to U.P. Health System-Marquette, where she died of her injuries.
The name of the semi-truck driver is not being released.
