Breaking, Entering Criminal Accidentally Locks Herself in Car
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –State Police at the St. Ignace Post were called out to a breaking and entering on Monday at Chamberlin’s Inn in Mackinac County.
Troopers arriving at the scene found the suspect, a 42-year-old Curtis woman, locked inside her vehicle, along with evidence of the crime. She had apparently lost her keys while committing the break-in and had locked herself inside her vehicle.
Troopers say after loading the stolen items in to the vehicle, the woman got in and discovered she was missing her keys. The vehicle’s door latches did not work from the inside and she needed the keys to roll down the window to open the door from the outside.
As a result, the woman was arrested after police arrived on the scene and she was charged with Home Invasion and Larceny in a Building and was lodged in the Mackinac County Jail.
