Third Month Michigan’s Unemployment Rate Drops

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Michigan’s unemployment rate edged down in April by one-tenth of a percentage point to 8.4 percent.

It was the third consecutive monthly decline in the state’s jobless rate, according to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.

The Michigan jobless rate last month was seven-tenths of a percentage point below the state’s April 2012 rate of 9.1 percent. The state’s unemployment rate in April was nine-tenths of a percentage point above the national rate of 7.5 percent.
