Local Governments to Receive More Revenue Than Proposed

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Local government will be getting more revenue than was earlier proposed, following approval of a conference committee report in Lansing.

Under the report, which now goes to the House and Senate for final approval, cities, villages, townships and counties will see a 4.8 percent increase in statutory revenue sharing.

The governor had earlier proposed a 1.1 percent increase for counties and no increase in revenue sharing for cities, villages and townships.
