Street Closures in Marquette
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – South Front Street in Marquette from Furnace Street to Jackson Street and from the round-a-bout to Fisher Street has been tapered down to one northbound lane today.
The lane adjustment is for the Marquette Beautification Committee’s annual “Petunia Pandemonium” planting of petunias. Students from the Marquette Area Public Schools, Father Marquette Elementary and North Star Academy will be doing planting today on the east side of the roadway.
The lane will be back open to through traffic by midnight. Starting at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, the southbound lane of South Front from Jackson to Furnace will be tapered down to one lane for the continued planting of petunias. The actual planting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and is expected to last about an hour.
The right turn lane of Genesee Street at the corner of South Front will also be closed. All lanes are expected to be re-opened by noon.
