Budget Bill Now Goes to Snyder After Approval by Senate
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The State Senate has completed legislative action on the 2013-14 fiscal year budget by granting final passage to the omnibus budget bill.
The $33.6 billion spending plan covering appropriations for 17 departments passed on a mostly partly line vote of 24-14. The $15.1 billion School Aid Omnibus budget, which includes funding for K-12 education, community colleges and higher education was given final approval in the Senate last week. It does not include Medicaid expansion, it does include an infusion of hundreds of millions of General Fund money into roads.
The bill now goes to Governor Rick Snyder for signature.
