Great Lakes Radio News UpdatesMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – American Transmission Company and the Michigan DNR are exploring the possible placement of an electric transmission line alongside the proposed Escanaba to Hermansville rail-trail.

The two groups say they would work together on the project to minimize its impact on privately owned property and the environment. ATC would also assist the DNR with its efforts to construct the new recreational trail.

DNR officials say they are currently evaluating this potential partnership with ATC and its relationship to the trail project. ATC is holding an open house today to discuss the project from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris.
