Interim Superintendent Selected for Marquette Area Public Schools

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education has selected an interim Superintendent for the district.

The Board has selected William Saunders, the current Principal at the Bothwell Middle School, to the post. The vote was unanimous last night, and Saunders will begin his new assignment on July 1. He takes over for the outgoing District Superintendent Deborah Veiht, who has accepted the position of Superintendent at the Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency.

Saunders will serve for one year as the interim Superintendent and the Board will then review his performance to decide if he will be kept on as District Superintendent.
