Terrorist Threat Arrested in Delta County

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Great Lakes Radio – An Upper Michigan man has been arrested for terroristic threats and the attempted manufacturing of explosive devices.

The 28-year-old man from Rapid River was arrested after a joint investigation by State Police at the Gladstone Post, FBI, and ATF.  The incident occurred in Delta County’s Masonville Township.

The investigation was initiated after the suspect, who is a convicted felon, made threats on the internet to build an explosive device and attempt to harm people at a public venue.  Charges were later authorized by the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office.

The man was arrested without incident late last week at his residence and is currently lodged on felony charges at the Delta County Jail without bond.  The man’s name is not being released, pending arraignment in the 94th District Court of Delta County.  The incident remains under investigation.
