Calumet, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police say a Calumet resident recently received a phone call that showed on the caller I.D. as coming from Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
Troopers say the caller told the person that they had been selected to have their debt forgiven and requested credit card account information.
Aspirus Keweenaw says the caller was not affiliated with the hospital, and State Police ask that anyone who receives a similar call to report it to their local law enforcement.
Residents are reminded that they should never give out any personal information over the phone.
