Alger County Man Dies in Accident

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)The investigation is continuing into a single-vehicle accident yesterday in Alger County that claimed the life of one man.

Troopers from the Munising Detachment of the Negaunee State Police Post say the accident happened yesterday afternoon on H-13 near the Coalwood Grade when a southbound 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by 70-year-old Paul Herbert Walker of Alger County, left the roadway and struck several trees.

Walker was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries from the crash. Troopers say alcohol and speed were not believed to be factors in the accident, and Walker was wearing a seat belt.
