County-Wide Fire Training in K.I. Sawyer for Marquette Firefighters
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Fire Fighters Association will be conducting a county-wide fire training exercise tomorrow at the former KI Sawyer Air Base.
The Marquette County Land Bank Authority owns 15 vacant residential buildings that are scheduled to be demolished this summer and has made them available for fire training prior to demolition.
Training will be held in two of the vacant buildings. Fire training will be part lecture and part hands-on consisting of water shuttle, search and rescue, ventilation and forcible entry training.
Ten area fire departments are expected to participate in the training. The training is expected to run from 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m.
