U.P._News_UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)After near-record highs earlier this month, Michigan gas prices are retreating for a second week in a row as refinery issues ease in the Midwest.

Triple A Michigan says motorists will find the average gas price tumbled just over 30 cents this week.

The current statewide average is slightly more than $3.64 per gallon, about 7 cents more than this same time last year.

Michigan’s gas price — which had been highest in the continental U.S. earlier this month — is now at 17th highest nationwide.

Among the cities it surveys, the Auto Club says the lowest price in the state was found in the Flint area at slightly more than $3.53 per gallon. The highest was in the Saginaw/Bay City area at just over $3.72 per gallon.  Dearborn-based ‘Triple A Michigan’ surveys two-thousand-800 Michigan gas stations daily.
