Escanaba, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Escanaba man was arrested yesterday in connection with a domestic situation involving a house fire and the discharge of a firearm.
40–year–old Mason Bajanen was charged with Felonious Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Discharging a Firearm In or At a Building.
Escanaba Public Safety were called to a house on the 1100 block of Sheridan Road Tuesday evening. Officers arriving on the scene found the residence on fire and were told the man was armed and had allegedly discharged a gun inside the house.
Bajanen was later located at a camp in Cornell Township and, after several hours, surrendered to police without incident.
Bajanen is currently being held in the Delta County Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in court on February 11th.
