Man Hospitalized After Car-Pedestrian Accident in Downtown Marquette
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police say the investigation is continuing into a car-pedestrian accident that happened in South Marquette late Friday night.
A 51-year-old Marquette man was hospitalized after being hit by a car just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Front Street and Genesee Street.
Police say as the man was attempting to cross South Front, one vehicle slowed down, but another vehicle, a 2001 Nissan, driven by a 34-year-old Eben man, was in the left lane and unable to stop. The second vehicle struck the pedestrian who was taken to Marquette General for treatment of severe injuries.
Names are being withheld as the investigation continues.
