Charges to Follow in Stabbing Incident in West Branch Township

Michigan_State_PoliceMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)State Police at the Negaunee Post investigated a stabbing incident on Saturday morning.

Troopers arrested a woman after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend at a residence in West Branch Township.  The incident was reported around 11:15 Saturday morning, after a man called 9-1-1 saying he had been stabbed.

Authorities investigating the scene say the couple had apparently been arguing when the woman stabbed the man with a knife.  The man was taken to Marquette General for treatment and was later released.

The woman is being held in the Marquette County Jail, and no names are being released pending review by the Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney.  Names and charges will be released following the woman’s arraignment in Marquette County District Court.
