Indiana Man Arrested for Verbal Assault

Michigan State PoliceMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)State Police at the Wakefield Post arrested an Indiana man yesterday for threatening a family at their residence in Gogebic County’s Marenisco Township.

Troopers were called to the residence after the unidentified man approached a family making verbal threats and brandishing a large wooden stick.  The man continued to make threats of physical violence against the family and an adult female, who called 9-1-1, saying she feared physical harm.

Troopers arrested the unidentified 41-year-old LaPorte, Indiana man without incident.  They say he was making rambling statements about Satan and religion when he was arrested.

He is being held on a charge of felonious assault, which is punishable by up to four years in prison.  The man’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
