    Hancock, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Copper Country man was arrested this weekend on assault charges after an argument turned violent.

    The 58-year-old Hancock man was arrested after he allegedly shot another man in the left shoulder with a bow and arrow.

    Hancock Police responded to a report of a fight on Summit Street around 12:30 p.m. Saturday and found the victim, a 56-year-old man, with the arrow wound.

    Reports say the suspect admitted to the assault and was arrested on a charge of Aggravated/Felonious Assault.

    He is currently being held at the Houghton County Jail awaiting arraignment.

    The victim was hospitalized for treatment and was later released.

    Names are being withheld pending arraignment and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
