U.P._News_UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies are continuing their investigation into a car-semi accident that happened yesterday in Negaunee Township.

The accident happened yesterday around 4:30 p.m. on US-41 near Pond Road when a 2002 Ford Taurus, driven by 31-year-old Ryan Rogers of Negaunee rear-ended a semi-tractor trailer owned by Enright Construction of Marquette, driven by 58-year-old Charles Fortin of Big Bay.

Both vehicles were westbound on US-41 in the left lane when the semi slowed down for a vehicle making a left-hand turn.  The semi then sped up and went to turn left at the next median when Rogers struck the trailer.

Rogers was taken to M-G-H for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while Fortin was not injured.  West and east bound traffic was reduced to one lane each way for about an hour.
