Sault Ste. Marie, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – An Upper Michigan university has announced plans to no longer offer early morning classes.

Officials with Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie say they will not schedule classes from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

The university says the idea is to make it easier for faculty to schedule meetings and to allow students to have more free time.

Lake State will give the plan a try for at least a semester and then evaluate the response.
