U.P._News_UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Severe weather is believed to be the cause of a fatal house fire this morning in Luce County.
The fire at 23340 County Road 438 in Lakefield Township claimed the life of 79-year-old Forrest Alan Rank. The Luce County Sheriff’s Department says Rank was was the sole occupant of the residence.

The preliminary investigation has led authorities to believe that a lightning strike during last night’s severe thunderstorms may have caused the fire. The incident is still under investigation.
