Marquette County Woman in Court After Stabbing Boyfriend

Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette County woman arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend last month appeared in court yesterday.

36-year-old Cloea Wiig waived her preliminary exam in Marquette County District Court and was bound over to Circuit Court. Wiig allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, 43-year-old James Potvin of Skandia, on June 29 in West Branch Township.

Police say the two were arguing when Wiig allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Potvin.

She is facing arraignment on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon on August 9.
