Escanaba Woman Sentenced for Attempted Larceny

    U.P._News_UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)A Delta County store clerk who assisted in the theft of money from the cash register at the business she was working at nearly a year ago has been sentenced to jail time.

    Annaelise Ambrose, 23, of Escanaba assisted in a larceny at the Grain N’ Grape convenience store on August 1st of last year.  Reports say she opened the register and allowed 21-year-old Abby Johnson of Escanaba to steal an amount of cash, and then notified authorities.

    Ambrose was sentenced yesterday at the Delta County Circuit Court.  Ambrose was charged with one count of attempted larceny in a building and one count of lying to a police officer investigating a larceny.

    She was sentenced to two concurrent sentences of five months in jail and given credit for five days served.  She was also placed on probation for a period of 18 months and ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution plus court fines and costs.
