GM Profits in North American
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – General Motors announced they made $1.2 billion for the second quarter of the year.
In North America, their profit topped $2 billion but losses in Europe and other markets globally brought the overall profit down by 19 percent compared to the second quarter of last year.
The Detroit automaker has been trying to reduce costs in Europe where they have not turned an annual profit in decades. GM says sales of pickup trucks in the U.S. helped increase their profit in North America by four percent over 2012.
