Michigan Unemployment Rate Increases for June
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates increased in all of Michigan’s 17 major labor market areas in June.
According to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget, total employment and labor force levels advanced seasonally in most regions over the month.
The Ann Arbor area had the state’s lowest jobless rate last month at 6.8 percent while Northeast Lower Michigan had the highest at 11 percent. The rate for the U.P. was 9.6 percent while Marquette County had a rate of 9 percent.
Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in June was 8.7 percent.
