Medicaid Expansion Vote Today
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A vote is expected today by a State Senate committee on legislation overhauling Medicaid, but also expanding it to those with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level.
The expansion, which was discussed in the Senate Government Operations Committee Tuesday, is in connection with the Affordable Care Act, also referred to as Obamacare.
The move, if given final approval, would bring at least 300,000 more Michiganders into Medicaid.
The Michigan House approved its own version of the bill earlier this year.
