High-Speed Chase Ends on US-2: Escanaba Man Arrested

    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)State Police at the Negaunee Post report the arrest of a 22-year-old Escanaba man following an early-morning high-speed chase today.

    The man was charged with Fleeing & Eluding Police and Operating While Intoxicated after a chase that lasted about 25 minutes.

    Troopers attempted to stop the man on his motorcycle for a speeding violation. He fled from Troopers around 4 a.m. today on US-41 near Dukes Road in Skandia Township. He was arrested on US-2 near County Road 511 in Delta County’s Masonville Township.

    The man lost control of his motorcycle on the gravel while he was attempting to turn around.  He was not injured and was taken into custody without incident.

    He is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail and his name is being withheld pending arraignment.
