At their last meeting, the village fathers announced they will wait until the new tribal officials take office later this month.

The $26 million casino in Mackinaw City would operate as a secondary facility to the tribe’s Petoskey location, and could open by 2014.  The proposed casino would be located on tribal lands just south of the village limits.
