No Decision Yet on Casino in Mackinaw City
MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Mackinaw City Village Council is not quite ready to make a decision on the proposed casino by the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.
At their last meeting, the village fathers announced they will wait until the new tribal officials take office later this month.
The $26 million casino in Mackinaw City would operate as a secondary facility to the tribe’s Petoskey location, and could open by 2014. The proposed casino would be located on tribal lands just south of the village limits.
