Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Iron Mountain Post say a 14-year-old Kingsford boy was injured when the moped he was riding on collided with a car yesterday afternoon.

Troopers say the boy was southbound on Hydraulic Falls Road in Breitung Township just after 2:30 p.m. central time when he failed to stop while crossing Breitung Cutoff Road.

The boy drove into the path of a 2010 KIA driven by 60–year–old Cecil, Wisconsin woman.  The boy was ejected from the moped and the moped was sent across the road into the ditch.

The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and was transported to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.  The driver of the car was treated on scene for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
