WI Man Arraigned For Traffic Chase In Marquette Township

Marquette,MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Wisconsin man arrested over the weekend in Marquette Township following a brief vehicle chase has been arraigned.

37-year-old Scott Michael Upson of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was formally charged by the County Prosecutor with OWI, Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing and Driving with a Revoked License.

Upson was arrested early Saturday morning on County Road 550 near the Wetmore Pond after he fled from Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies who had attempted to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation near the Sugarloaf Mountain parking area.

Upson’s 2004 Toyota Highlander was boxed in by Sheriff’s Patrol cars and Upson was tasered after refusing commands to exit the vehicle.

He remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail and faces a court appearance in 96th District Court on August 30th.
