State Police Trooper Injured In Suspect Pursuit In Western U.P.

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)A Trooper from the Iron Mountain State Police Post was injured this morning while engaging in the pursuit of a suspect.  

Around 12:15 am today, the Trooper responded to a report of a suspicious person on Genesee Street in Iron River.  The Trooper arrived on scene and found a large plate glass window on a business broken with a blood trail on the ground that he was able to track to the suspect at a nearby residence.  

The suspect, a 30-year-old Iron River man, fled the scene on foot when he saw the Trooper.  The Trooper was injured in a fall during the chase, but he was able to catch and arrest the suspect.  The man was treated for his injuries and lodged in the Iron County Jail.  

No names have been released as the suspect is awaiting arraignment.
