Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) - TDS Telecommunications is warning residents about an e-mail scam.

Known as phishing, the emails are fraudulent attempts to scam customers into providing email addresses and passwords. They suggest that TDS is expanding the customers email quota.

TDS officials say they do not conduct business this way and the emails should be deleted.

To protect against all phishing attempts, TDS advises customers not to provide confidential information, such as passwords, social security numbers and more to any request they did not initiate.

According to TDS, any emails requesting such data should be deleted immediately.
