Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Superior Watershed Partnership has teamed up with the City of Marquette to host a community-wide volunteer event to help protect and restore the Lake Superior dunes and beaches within the city limits.

Organizers say the city has over ten miles of Lake Superior shoreline and a major portion includes public sandy beaches.

The event is being held tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and volunteers will be assisting in transplanting native beach grass, removing invasive plant species and picking up litter.

Interested parties can meet at the Superior Watershed Partnership offices in Presque Isle Park just before 10:00 a.m.
