Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A protest against plans to upgrade the road leading to the Eagle Mine in Western Marquette County is being planned for tonight.

Residents who live along County Road 510 and the Triple-A Road are planning to appear at the Marquette County Road Commission meeting.

The proposed improvements would be paid for by Eagle Mine owner Lundin Mining.

The group is opposed to a 55 miles-per-hour speed limit on the road and is against using the policy of eminent domain to take private property to create a wider road bed.
