Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police arrested two people on felony assault charges last night.

Officers responded to a report of an assault in the parking lot at 918 W. Washington St. just after 10.

When police arrived, the suspects and victims had fled the area, but were located by police a short time later.

Officers say two people had been assaulted by two suspects with a pool cue and a make shift bat.

Both victims were treated and released by EMS. Police arrested 38-year-old Kowayne Burns and 26-year-old Ebonie Burns, both of Marquette.

Kowayne Burns was charged with one count of Felonious Assault while Ebonie Burns was arrested on two counts of Felonious Assault.

Both were lodged at the Marquette County Jail and are awaiting arraignment.
