NMU Alum Seavey Wins Iditarod Again

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Former Northern Michigan University student Dallas Seavey has won his fourth Iditarod sled dog championship.

    The 29-year-old Seavey also broke his own course record by nearly two hours with a time of 8 days, 11 hours, 20 minutes and 16 seconds.

    Seavey won the nearly 1,000-mile race for the third consecutive year and has won four times in the last five years.

    Seavey attended NMU in 2005 and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Greco-Roman wrestling.
