Manistique Man Arrested For Marquette Attempted Break-In

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette City Police say a Manistique man was arrested after attempting to break into a Marquette business last Sunday.

28 year old John Eric Rachel was arrested and charged with attempted breaking and entering a building with intent, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Police say the incident happened last Sunday morning around 10:30 at the Gold & Silver Exchange at 110 North Third Street.

The owner of the business told police he saw Rachel outside acting suspiciously.

The owner found that the suspect had damaged the front door and then fled the scene before police arrived.
