Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Board is taking a new approach addressing the Dark Store issue.

At their meeting last night, Commissioners voted to unanimously support a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores requesting a meeting and dialogue with County representatives about the issue.

The letter was developed with the group Marquette County Citizens for Fair Share, a grassroots coalition formed to spearhead efforts to get the Dark Store dispute resolved.

The letter asks Lowe’s to take a prominent role in the community to explore options for a speedy resolution to the taxation dispute.
