Man Arraigned For Ishpeming Traffic Accident

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Marquette county man who drove his SUV into a wall at the Central School in Ishpeming was arraigned yesterday in 96th District Court.

29-year-old Joseph Dean Pennala of Ishpeming was arraigned on charges of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, Failure to Stop at the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident and Operating While Intoxicated.

Pennala was arrested after Ishpeming Police were called out to the school on the report of a vehicle hitting the building at a high rate of speed.

Witnesses told Police the driver fled the scene on foot and Pennala was taken into custody a short time later at his home on New York Street.

He faces a preliminary hearing on November 5th and he is currently free on 10 percent of $15,000 bond.
