Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Voters in a handful of communities in Marquette County head to the polls today to decide some key races.

Residents will select candidates on the Marquette City Commission, Marquette Board of Light and Power, Negaunee City Council, Negaunee City Board of Review and Negaunee City Mayor.

Two ballot proposals are also being decided.

In Powell Township, a proposed millage for street and road improvements would contain an increase 1.75 mills over 20 years.

In Republic Township, a millage for recreational sites would have an increase of .2 mills for three years to fund equipment, maintenance and operations of Township Recreational sites.

Polls are open until 8:00 p.m.
